NFL Week 13 odds, picks and predictions
Week 13 is here and there are a ton of intriguing odds match ups, including some smash and crash rivalry divisional games.
Here are my picks of the week:
Denver (-4) @ San Diego
Quarterback controversies arise every year but none more interesting than the one that arose in Denver. With each win QB Brett Osweiler gets, he builds more belief in the thought that he should stay as the number one QB.
But with Peyton Manning unsure when he will be able to return to the field, the job is Osweiler’s for now. I think he goes into San Diego and takes apart the battered Chargers and we see yet another game in which the Broncos offense and Coach Gary Kubiak’s system functions well and at a high-capacity.
Broncos 29 Chargers 16
Kansas City (-3) @ Oakland
Kansas City is on a five-game winning streak and has gone 5-0 ATS during that stretch. The offense has averaged 32 points during the win streak but they go into Oakland banged up on both sides of the ball. The Chiefs lost LB Justin Houston to a knee injury last week that will force him to miss this game.
Last season, the Chiefs had a five-game win streak and went into Oakland and lost. That lost sent them on a downward spiral that kept them out of the playoffs.
I think there will be no repeat of history and the Chiefs defense gets it done with their No. 7th ranked defense (91.67 yards per game). I see the Chiefs making some huge plays on defense and special teams to keep their playoff hopes alive.
Chiefs 27 Raiders 22
Carolina (-6.5) @ New Orleans
Do I think Carolina can run the table from here and go 16-0? Yes, its possible. You have to consider it. Of the remaining games on their schedule, this is one of the two games (at New York Giants on Dec. 20th) that could get them a ‘L’ in the loss column.
But the Panthers are 12-2 ATS in their last 14 games in Louisiana and they come in with some additional rest after having last played on Thanksgiving Day. The Panthers defense shouldn’t have a problem slowing the Saints anemic ground attack that ranks 26th in the NFL.
Panthers continue to roll and the defense comes up big again.
Panthers 33 Saints 20
