NFL Week 14 odds, picks and predictions
After a good Week 13 ( 2-1 Picks of the Week, 3-0 for the Over/Under, 10-6 SU) we look to keep it rolling into Week 14, where we see a handful of tantalizing games to choose from. Here are my picks of the week:
Pittsburgh @ Cincinnati (-2.5)
Cincy beat Pitt in Pittsburgh back on Nov. 1st 16-10 in a game that saw Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger return to action after having missed the previous three games. Big Ben threw one TD and three interceptions and the Steelers lost RB Le’Veon Bell to a knee injury. That injury took the wind out of the entire stadium and a rusty Roethlisberger didn’t help matters much either but the Steelers are a different team than they were in the first match up.
The offense is clicking on all cylinders so I think this game will come down to the defenses and who can limit the other opponent’s big plays.
The Bengals are still the most balanced team in the NFL and their defense should be able to slow the Steelers attack just enough to cover.
Bengals 27 Steelers 24
San Francisco (+1.5) @ Cleveland
The Johnny Manziel Show is back on in Cleveland and it should make for an interesting contest.
San Francisco is coming in off of an overtime win in Chicago and without a terrible call in the fourth quarter of the Niners game vs. Arizona a few weeks ago, SF QB Blaine Gabbert could potentially be 3-1 as a starter. Instead he is 2-2 and completing 63% of his passes, and running the offense pretty well.
We don’t know what we’re going to get out of Manziel, and his two top wide receiver targets (Travis Benjamin/ Andrew Hawkins) most likely will miss Sunday’s game but it should be entertaining. I believe the Niners have some punch to put up at least 20 points in this game and that should be enough to win.
49’ers 22 Cleveland 19
Detroit (-3) @ St. Louis
Detroit comes into this game after having gone 3-1 in their last four games, the one loss was last week to Aaron Rodgers on the last play of the game. After starting the season 1-7 the Lions have finally found a rhythm and they face a St. Louis team that has struggled majorly on offense this year.
The Rams are last in the NFL in passing yards per game (178 per) and last in third down conversion percentage (24.5%). They also have been outscored 58-10 in the last two weeks. I see that trend continuing.
Lions 28 Rams 20
