Well, Week 14 was a difficult one. For my Picks of the Week, we went a dismal 0-3. But 12-5 in the last few weeks hasn’t been bad so I won’t complain. We went 6-6 last week ATS with better success in the Over/ Under (8-4). We also went 9-7 SU.

Here are my picks of the week:

New York Jets (-3)  @ Dallas

The first Saturday game of the season, the New York Jets will try to hold onto the last AFC Wild Card slot as they face a Dallas team that has only been able to score 17 points per game (30th in the NFL) on the season. The Cowboys are coming off a 28-7 loss to Green Bay in which Cowboys QB Matt Cassel threw for only 114 yards. Cowboys RB Darren McFadden contributed 111 rushing yards on the ground but against this fearsome front seven of NY, it looks to be a long day for the Cowboys.

Jets 23    Cowboys  18

Miami (+1.5)   @  San Diego

The San Diego Chargers could very well be playing their final game in San Diego Qualcomm Stadium as they are a potential candidate to move to Los Angeles next season.

There may be some emotion in the air. Will it be like the 1995 Cleveland Browns farewell? I highly doubt it but with the Chargers on a five-game home losing streak, they may be motivated to get in the win column before they depart. Makes for a good bedtime story.

The Dolphins are 9-2 SU, 7-2 ATS in their most recent meetings with the Bolts and even with so much on the line I think the ‘Fins are able to withstand energy and win this road game. I can see a few wacky scores happening, either in special teams or some big plays but Dolphins walk away winners.

Dolphins 20    Chargers  17

Kansas City (-6.5)   @  Baltimore

The Kansas City Chiefs are on a seven game win streak and hold one of the AFC Wild-Card spots currently and they look to tighten their grip on this spot this weekend in Baltimore.

The Ravens signed QB Ryan Mallet, who was recently cut by the Houston Texans, to start in case QB Matt Schaub cannot go.

Basically, I think this game boils down to a Ravens rushing attack that ranks 30th in the league at home that will be featuring a back up QB (either Schaub or Mallett) facing the fifth rated defense in the league. The Chiefs should feast. I say should becasue they barely squeaked by the lowly Chargers last week 10-3.

Chiefs  24    Ravens  10
