No argument for Matt Ryan
(USA TODAY Sports)

Matt Ryan is the leading MVP Candidate, and I don’t think there is any argument against this. I understand you want to praise Tom Brady because he is the ‘G.O.A.T.’ and he is having a great season, but he hasn’t played the entire season. I understand the great season Ezekiel Elliot is having and is playing like he isn’t a rookie. I also understand the magical season Derek Carr is having with the ‘comeback kids’ Oakland Raiders. His numbers are not like leading candidate for MVP though, Matt Ryan.

You might even want to put Drew Brees as a candidate for MVP, but his numbers are only better because the Saints play from behind almost every game. The Saints also don’t have a winning record like their rival the Falcons. Matt Ryan leads or is second in all statistical QB categories this year. He is 2nd in passing yards and touchdown passes, coming behind his division rival Drew Brees. He is the leading QB in completion percentage and 2nd in passing yards per game.

People have tried to say… well he has a machine-like receiver named Julio Jones to throw to and that helps a lot. Well, Julio Jones didn’t play this week or last week, but the Falcons still put up 40 points in back-to-back games. Matt Ryan didn’t even play the whole game against these two teams because he was carving them up so bad. He is the most accurate QB in the league. If you give this man a good offensive line and time, he’ll carve up even the best defenses in the NFL. Even in his 2013 and 2014 his “down” years, (with a bad offensive line!) he still put up decent numbers. If the season ended today, he is my MVP pick for 2016. Not just because I’m a Falcon fan, but because numbers don’t lie and no one is playing at the level he is. Give credit when it’s due.
