‘Once Upon a Time’ Recap and Review: “Homecoming”
On Friday night’s episode of Once Upon a Time, the wish realm version of Rumple stirs up trouble, leading Henry, Regina, and Hook to go back to the wish realm with Henry’s author powers coming back up in the end.
Wish realm Rumpelstiltskin sent Ella and Lucy to the wish realm, just as everyone was celebrating the broken curse. Henry went to Regina, Hook, and the OG Rumple for help and Henry eventually ended up going back to his author roots so he could change the story. But even after going through the ropes of proving his worth to the Apprentice, his plan still backfired when the young wish-realm version of Henry shows up because he made a deal with wish realm Rumple.
Meanwhile, Tiana’s still trying to figure out who she is. Not because she can’t remember the fact that she’s Queen Tiana but because she can remember it all: being a princess, queen, and Sabine and she’s confused about who she is and what she wants. In the end, she realized that she needs to be the queen of the people. She eventually got the attention of the town and got a magic bean from someone to give to Robin and Alice, who plan on getting to the wish realm for some much-needed backup. But before they go there, they decided to make a pit stop: Storybrooke. But we won’t get to see them in Storybrooke or anymore of the original characters that left Once Upon a Time at the end of last season until next week’s episode.
Overall, I think this episode of Once Upon a Time is the start of combining all of the different story lines. Seeing both the older Henry and a younger alternate version of Henry side by side like that just made the story more confusing to be honest but it was still really cool to see. I expect that everything will come together with a happy ending in next week’s finale and I personally can’t wait to see Charming, Snow, their son Neal, Emma, Hook, and their daughter, Hope. And yes, Emma and Hook had a daughter together named Hope, which I, along with other Oncer fans, know because Jennifer Morrison, who plays Emma, accidentally spoiled it in an interview.
Once Upon a Time airs its series finale this coming Friday at 8 PM EST on ABC
