The Denver Nuggets have traded their star point guard Ty Lawson to the Houston Rockets for a bunch of guys and a draft pick. Well, one of those “guys’ will not be sticking with the team too much longer. Adrian Wojnarowski reports that the Nuggets will trade Pablo Prigioni within 24 hours and if they cannot find a suitor they will waive the 38-year-old point guard.

Prigioni has $1.7 million left on his contract, but only 440K of that is guaranteed, making him a great piece in a minor trade or to be waived with little cost to Denver. Prigioni does not offer much to the rebuilding Nuggets, but he is a solid backup guard who can be a good locker room guy with decent defense and passing. If no deal is reached to trade Pablo, if and when he is waived I would not be surprised to see a contending team make a waiver claim for him.
