Parris Campbell Scouting Report

parris campbell scouting report
(USA TODAY Sports)

Strengths:

  • Speed
  • Dangerous with ball in hands
  • Elite return skills
  • Generates separation on all three levels
  • Explosive athlete
  • Improved hands
  • Versatile

Weaknesses:

  • Raw in terms of wide receiver
  • Limited experience with the route tree and downfield looks
  • Was used as a ‘gimmick’ in college
  • Route running needs more perfection
  • Doesn’t change route tempo very often

Analysis: Parris Campbell is a fantastic athlete who can excel in the NFL if his offensive coordinator knows how to use him. He is not going to be a possession receiver or one you can rely on to play all three downs. He is a package-guy who will need to work on his route running and the other aspects of being a true receiver, but that won’t stop him from making an impact in the NFL. He will contribute right away on special teams and can be a dangerous returner at the next level. I think Percy Harvin when I watch his game (although I did have Harvin rated higher coming out of college).

Size: 6’0 205lbs

Draft Grade: 3rd round grade

NFL Comparison: Percy Harvin

Draft Projection: Day 2 pick
