Podcast Spotlight: The Best Darn Diddly Review Show
Do you love The Simpsons? Did you grow up watching it, maybe even without your parents’ permission on a 12-inch black and white Zenith TV? Well, then I’ve got a podcast that’s perfect for you in this podcast spotlight! The Best Darn Diddly Review Show is a podcast by two guys who love and grew up watching The Simpsons – Miles and Richie the Wiz Kid.
I came across this show by accident while listening to some other shows and it was suggested by the podcast site Stitcher. I knew it was a show that I would love. I began listening to it and the first episode of the show is also the beginning of the longest-running series (having recently surpassed Gunsmoke for the record) in television history. They started off doing a couple of episodes per podcast, but soon the episodes became too detailed and filled with hidden references, jokes, and details that can be easily missed. This necessitated that they spend 45 minutes to an hour dissecting and breaking down everything in the episode, including commentary.
In addition to their encyclopedic knowledge of The Simpsons, Miles and Richie are have also had some amazing Simpsons– related guests join them to talk about the show, including producer Carolyn Omine, writer/producer Michael Price, and showrunner Mike Reiss. These are definitely some episodes that I recommend checking out in their catalog. Honestly, there are zero bad episodes, and I’ve listened to all of them. They recently released their 100th episode, so if you enjoy this podcast you can pretty much bank on another 500+ episodes in order to keep up with the prolific animated series.
So where can you find this show and the fantastic gentlemen who host it? I’m so very glad you asked! Miles can be found on Twitter @MrMostDaysOff, Richie can be found @TheWiz_Kid23. You can follow the show @Best DarnDiddly (which works for both Twitter and Instagram). You can listen to the show on Stitcher, Podbean, and iTunes!
Follow them, leave a review of the show, tell your friends, but most importantly, listen to them and enjoy the content they provide! They’re great guys and the show is awesome. If you enjoy The Simpsons at all, I cannot recommend this podcast highly enough. Oh, and before I forget, they are part of the SomeBuddies Network.
