Power Ranking the Top 3 Food Network Star Contestants
Nine episodes down and only three chefs remain in this seasons Food Network Star (At least until the winner of Star Salvation returns). Below we rank the remaining contestants and their odds of taking home the title of the next Food Network Star.
3. Rusty Hamlin
Last week’s rank: 3rd
When it comes to Rusty, Matthew and Jason it is clear Rusty is bringing up the rear. He has a vibrant personality, but struggles with consistency too much to be declared a Food Network Star. Despite Amy being eliminated on the last episode, Rusty made a strong case for himself to be the chef saying goodbye.
2. Matthew Grunwald
Last week’s rank: 2nd
Episode 9 was without a doubt the best week yet for Matthew. Since I unveiled my power rankings I have had Matthew second behind Jason every week except one (4th after episode 6) and have received a lot of ‘hate’ for ranking him that high. This past episode showed why—when Matthew is on his game he is energetic, passionate and professional. He looked like a star during both competitions and the Scripps management can definitely envision Matthew with his own show. Matthew is picking a good time to heat up while the other contestants appear to be slowing down.
1. Jason Smith
Last week’s rank: 1st
For the first week all season, I had to think about who I was going to rank No.1—then three seconds later, it was obvious Jason is still number one. Here’s the thing, Jason has been by far and away the best chef every episode except this last week. This should be a cumulative competition and one that looks at each contestants entire body of work on the show. Jason did seem to hit a wall this past week, but his talent, personality and ability to cook is undeniable—I expect a rebound performance next week, one that will guarantee a pilot being made for this growing Kentucky legend…https://www.myfantasysportstalk.com/power-ranking-the-top-3-food-network-star-contestants/https://i2.wp.com/www.myfantasysportstalk.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/PONT_Jason-Smith.jpg.rend_.hgtvcom.966.725.jpeg?fit=967%2C725&ssl=1https://i2.wp.com/www.myfantasysportstalk.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/PONT_Jason-Smith.jpg.rend_.hgtvcom.966.725.jpeg?resize=150%2C150&ssl=1EntertainmentRecent PostsTV ShowsFood Network StarNine episodes down and only three chefs remain in this seasons Food Network Star (At least until the winner of Star Salvation returns).
