Premier League Fantasy Week 2
Here are some key match-ups and players to watch for Week 2 of the Premier League Fantasy:
Paul Pogba debuts for Manchester United vs. Southhampton: Have Pogba on your team for this match-up as he’s bound to make his mark on Friday. Jose Mourinho won’t change much from his initial starting XI vs Bournemouth so it may be in your best interest to have players like Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Juan Mata starting as well. I’d avoid using any Southampton players for this match-up as the quality of the team doesn’t seem to match up well against United in any position.
Manchester City vs. Stoke City: Hopefully City’s 5-0 Champions League win will ignite a fire under them for the game this Saturday. They were lackluster against Sunderland last weekend so Pep Guardiola will look to go for a more crushing victory. If you watched their previous match-up, you’ll notice David Silva played a deeper role with Raheem Sterling on the left wing. Safe to say it was effective so look out for that potential lineup. Have Sergio Aguero in your lineup as he’ll be coming off a hat trick. Stoke are a developing side but aren’t an effective match-up player-wise.
Liverpool vs. Burnley: After a shootout against Arsenal and securing a victory on the road, look out for Jurgen Klopp to ask his team to draw blood early and rapidly against Burnley. This team, on paper, can’t contend with what Liverpool have. Expect Klopp to go with a similar starting XI barring any injuries and have Adam Lallana and Philippe Coutinho in your teams.
Chelsea vs. Watford: The 89th minute goal from Diego Costa gifted Chelsea three points from a West Ham United team that really gave Chelsea a headache. Chelsea manager Antonio Conte went with a different formation than expected. A 4-1-4-1 formation is expected against Watford and most likely no changes to the team. Costa and Eden Hazard are good options for the game, and consider Willian as well. The Brazilian midfielder made great runs on the right side of the pitch during the game against West Ham and looks effective. Avoid using any Watford players in this lineup.
AVOID Arsenal vs. Leicester City: With Arsenal still weak in the centre-back position and Leicester off to a bad start losing their first game of the title defense, this has the potential for a lackluster game. Either Arsenal’s attack will overwhelm Leicester or the duo of Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez will help the team overcome. This is a toss-up so caution should be taken in using any players from both teams.
