Premier League Week 5 Review
Here’s a recap of some highlights from this weekend’s action:
Watford stun Manchester United: In one of the most dreadful performances from Jose Mourinho and the team, Manchester United had to endure a 3-1 loss to Watford. One of the most disappointing performances of the match was in Wayne Rooney. The captain was less than stellar as calls for his drop to the bench get louder. Paul Pogba has also received criticism as many feel he hasn’t lived up to his record price tag. There’s a possibility we see changes in Mourinho’s lineup whether it be formation or personnel on the pitch.
Arsenal and Leicester City silence critics with brilliant goal-scoring: The two teams that opened up the Premier League season had forgettable starts to the campaign. This weekend however, both teams served up treats for their fans in reminding them of why both teams were so successful last season. Defending league champions Leicester City put in a 3-0 performance against Burnley to show off their dominance, while Arsenal put in a 4-1 thrashing of Hull City. Both teams will take great momentum into their next fixtures during Week 7 of the season.
Jordan Henderson scores a potential GOTS for Liverpool: In what was a potential goal of the season against Chelsea, Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson scored a stunner from outside the box that sent a frenzy among the Liverpool supporters. Liverpool won the game 2-1.
Manchester City remains the only undefeated team in the Premier League.
