Quick Pick: Detroit Mercy vs Cleveland State
Detroit Mercy vs Cleveland State Prediction
Where: Wolstein Center, Cleveland, OH
When: 7 P.M. ET
Line: -4 Cleveland State
Detroit Mercy (4-9) will have the best player on the court in freshman phenom Antoine Davis, who is third in the nation in scoring and one of the most enjoyable players to watch in college basketball. The Titans are coming off of a solid road victory at Youngstown State in the Horizon League opener, 78-66. If the supporting cast shows up like they did against the Penguins an undefeated start in conference play with both wins coming on the road, would not only be impressive, but a great turnaround from their recent six-game losing streak to end non-conference play.
Cleveland State (5-9) is coming off of a home loss in their Horizon League opening game against Oakland, 89-77. It was a game they never had the lead and struggled defensively. If the Vikings allow penetration the way they did when OU forward Jaevin Cumberland scored a bulk of his 27 points against them in that fashion–then they could be in line for an 0-2 start in conference play.
Dan’s Bet: +4 Detroit Mercy
Score Prediction: Detroit Mercy 74 Cleveland State 73
