Strengths:

  • Dominates at point of attack
  • Leverage winner
  • Play diagnosis is elite
  • High football IQ
  • Can handle collegiate double teams
  • Quickness extends his play radius
  • Punishing arms, slaps and chops
  • Powerful hitter

Weaknesses:

  • Listed under 300lbs
  • Scouts question ability to handle double teams in the NFL due to lack of mass
  • Lack of a bull rush against power lineman
  • Length is less than desired

Size: 6’3 295lbs

Analysis: Alabama and great defensive lineman go hand-in-hand and Quinnen Williams is the next in line.¬†The AP first-team All-American and first-team All-SEC selection started 15 times as a sophomore, leading the Tide with 18.5 tackles for loss among his 70 total tackles–he also posted seven sacks and a safety. The four-star recruit and top-200 prospect nationally red-shirted in 2016 while learning from stars like Jonathan Allen and Da’Ron Payne. He only has one season of elite production but his instincts, intelligence,¬†quickness and athleticism are difficult to ignore. He is a leverage winner, constantly shooting below his opponents pads and his quickness allows him to have tackle range you don’t see in an interior lineman. The biggest question will be if he has enough size and strength to become the Aaron Donald? Or will his ceiling only be a solid starter at the next level?

Dan’s Rank: Top 5

NFL Comparison: Bryant Young

Draft Projection: Top 3 overall
