Now that we are through the first weekend of the NCAA Tournament and on to the Sweet 16, it’s time to reflect on our brackets, and reassess the best of who’s left. Fortunately for hardcore sports fans and gamblers, Vegas steps in and helps us out. The following are the odds of each team remaining in the tournament to win it all, courtesy of Las Vegas SuperBook…

  1. North Carolina   4-1

  2. Kansas   4-1

  3. Gonzaga   6-1

  4. Arizona   6-1

  5. UCLA   7-1

  6. Kentucky   7-1

  7. West Virginia   18-1

  8. Purdue   18-1

  9. Florida   18-1

  10. Baylor   18-1

  11. Michigan   18-1

  12. Wisconsin   18-1

  13. Oregon   20-1

  14. Butler   40-1

  15. South Carolina   80-1

  16. Xavier   100-1

What I find most interesting about the Vegas odds is the tiers of confidence. There is clearly multiple tiers of contenders according to Vegas. Your top tier teams who are the odds on favorites to win it all are: North Carolina, Kansas, Gonzaga, Arizona, UCLA, and Kentucky.

The next tier of teams would be pretty big upsets to win it all. These teams have an outside, but realistic chance at winning it all, and winning you some serious cash. The second tier teams are: West Virginia, Purdue, Florida, Baylor, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Oregon.

The final tier of teams would be considered your Sweet 16 Cinderellas’. Your odds are not great, but if you decide to roll with these teams, they could win you mega bucks. Those three teams are: Butler, South Carolina, and Xavier.
