Raptors

I don’t know how I feel about this Toronto Raptors team. Basically they’re bipolar. When they want to win they are more than capable of winning, but sometimes things just head too far south for them. Like yesterday Toronto was finally looking like that true threat that we assumed would stand toe-to-toe with Cleveland and trade shots with them for five rounds, but then they turned back into the Raptors and almost had a meltdown in typical Raptors fashion.

After Being down by 25 and this game getting out of hand early on, Jason Kidd delivered a hell of a speech to his young team on the bench. He told them “It’s okay to play hurt” and for them go out there and continue doing what they’ve been doing all season and boy was it fun to watch as a fan. Giannis Antetokounmpo is a true superstar, and unfortunately, he couldn’t get the help he truly needed for the Bucks to advance. Giannis dropped 34 points, Greg Monroe showed flashes in this game and the old guy Jason Terry had the crowd erupting in cheers when he knocked down two huge threes late in the game.

Demar Derozan gave it his all putting up 32 points in forty minutes playing like a true All-Star. Kyle Lowry on the other hand put up a dud adding 13 points in 44 minutes as the Raptors barely survived out of Milwaukee with a 92-89 victory. The Raptors can’t be feeling too good about themselves, or their chances quite frankly knowing that when they look up Lebron James and the Cavaliers are staring right back at them.

No other Raptor put up double-digit points and if this team keeps this up and down play that’s so inconsistent this series could be over four games in. As fans were hoping that Toronto shrugs off the sloppiness we saw in round 1 and turns into a team that’s capable of knocking off the mighty Cavs. Game one of this rematch from the 2016 Eastern Conference Finals between the Cavs and Raptors kicks off on Monday in Cleveland.
