Ravens staying ahead with addition of Mark Ingram
After eight long season with the New Orleans Saints, Mark Ingram is moving on with the Baltimore Ravens.
We’ve seen the AFC North take a crazy turn of events as of late. The Browns are trending up with their additions, while the Steelers and Bengals haven’t been doing much in free agency.
Wednesday afternoon the Ravens made a splash after signing two high-profiled veterans to their roster. Safety Earl Thomas and running back Mark Ingram.

Looking at the track record of the Baltimore Ravens, they’ve always followed the same recipe, running the ball and playing tough defense. The Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers were other teams that were in the running for Ingram’s services, but in the end playing for Baltimore was the more natural fit.
With the Ravens moving on from Joe Flacco, they leaned heavily on the run game in 2018. With Lamar Jackson taking over the lead duties at quarterback, the Ravens only passed the ball less than 38 percent after Jackson took over in Week 11.
Gus Edwards was also a workhorse for that offense, but Jackson was doing big things as he set the record for most carries by a quarterback in just seven starts.
While it’s good having a very mobile quarterback, that’s not exactly what you want Jackson to get used to. Ingram has a couple of 1000-yard rushing seasons in 2016 and 2017.
The vet has an average of 4.5 yards per carry in his career, but he will be missed dearly by his teammates and fans in New Orleans.
