The Red Sox have agreed to terms on a minor league contract with 37 year-old infielder Brandon Phillips, first reported by Rob Bradford of WEEI.

Phillips spent the 2017 campaign between the Braves and Angels, hitting an aggregate .285/.319/.416 with 13 home runs, 60 RBI, and 81 runs scored in 604 plate appearances.

Those aren’t bad numbers, especially considering his age, so props to the Red Sox for the signing. He provides infield depth to a team that knows a thing or two about injuries.
