RG3 signed with Cleveland in the off-season because he was the odds-on favorite to win the Browns starting quarterback job. Well, not so fast. Reports are surfacing that Griffin looks shaky at best during Browns practices and more than half of his passes were tipped, intercepted or should have been intercepted.

One source I spoke with who was present at all six of the practices that were open to the media said RG3’s footwork looked like he was a ‘rookie’. He needs more coaching than new HC Hue Jackson had expected and while he is still thought of as the favorite to win the QB job, it is no longer a guarantee. He will need to prove his worth on the field and Training Camp/Preseason will be the ultimate indication as to his ‘readiness’ for Week 1.

Josh McCown will be pushing RG3 for that starting job and I expect it to be a tight race all summer long.
