Batman Beyond #1 Rebirth
DC Comics Rebirth launches a new release of Batman Beyond. I was excited to see Terry McGinnis return in a monthly book. He is back and is ready to clean up the streets of Gotham again. This book picks up from the last line of Batman Beyond books on issue #16. The events of the book take place six months after that book.
Terry’s girlfriend Dana Tan is kidnapped by the Jokerz. Terry goes to Jokerz Town, a section of Gotham that the gang has taken over and named. In this issue a Joker is hooked up on a machine that has Venom. Terry has to fight the Jokerz to save his girlfriend. The issue is titled “Escaping the Grave”. Chang’s artwork allows the reader to continue to be interested in the story. The story has plenty of action, that is depicted perfectly in an artistic manner.
As a fan of the original animated series, I enjoyed the story line as well as the artwork. I was over joyed that Terry McGinnis would be back as part of the DC Rebirth line. One of the best things about Batman Beyond is that anyone can start reading it. If you have not kept up with Batman for years, you too can enjoy a futuristic style Batman with different villains, as well as a separate back story.
