Review for Nightwing Vol. 1: Better Than Batman (Rebirth)
by Tim Seeley (Author)&Javier Fernandez (Artist)
Dick Grayson was the first Robin up in till he was a teenager. He then became Nightwing. He was the youngest of his family. His family where acrobats known as the Flying Graysons.
In the Rebirth Universe Dick Grayson was a super spy at one time and decided to come back as Nightwing. Grayson must go underground to retrieve his stolen identity. He must try to be better than his mentor.
He is back wearing the black and blue suit that all fans love. The story kicks off from the new 52 after he is a secret agent. Tim Seeley does a great job of story telling in Nightwing Rebirth. You receive an introduction of Raptor . You learn that Nightwing and Raptor travel all over the world for missions and have even teamed up with Batgirl at one point. Batgirl and Nightwing are trying to date but they are finding that it is difficult do to their crime fighting careers.
Tim Seeley provides great story play in this book. The character development is strong when it comes to Nightwing and Rebirth. Seeley’s monologues by Dick Grayson is incredible. He also does amazing in exploring Grayson’s relationship with Bruce. The most brilliant part of the writing is that the narration is coming from Dick himself and how he functions in Bruce’s life.
The art work from Javier Fernandez is fantastic. He provides a gritty tone to the pages and panels of this book that adds to the story. The artwork is satisfying.
