The killing jokeA new generation is now being introduced to “The Killing Joke“. Released in the 1980s it was controversial for its time, especially being considered the comic book genre, and apparently still holds that title to this day. Following a spat between some fans, even a petition was made to have a new cover paying homage to the iconic picture from the novel banned. The new cover depicts joker holding Batgirl.. Tied up.. If you’ve read the book you know what that is referring to. no spoilers

It’s now being made into a DC animated feature!! I feel like I’ve been waiting for this my whole life!! Well, basically since I was a geeky fangirl in the 90s when I first read it. Oh yeah, still a geeky fangirl. To top it of.. Joker is rumored to be voiced by none other than Mark Hamill! My favorite Joker!!!

So many graphic novels are now being made into movies and TV shows. In fact, some people don’t even know they were comics. For example.. Hellboy, Blade, Constantine, Twd. This is the generation of the geek! I was so ahead of my time. ? Back to Killing Joke, this book… Yes BOOK,is so multi dimensional it’s insane. Even serious and highly acclaimed authors have said that some of the lines, dialogue and quotes in this story were just plain brilliant.

If you love the Joker’s character and haven’t read this I suggest you catch up. It’s been said that many of the jokers you see depicted are based on this version of his story. Even Heath Ledger’s Joker in The Dark Knight. Read up nerds! I have a feeling this movie will blow fans away!!Older fans and the newer generation of readers. Look for DC’s “The Killing Joke” in 2016.
