After a few seasons of trade rumors swirling around his name, Ricky Rubio‘s time in Minnesota has finally come to an end.

The Timberwolves and Jazz reached an agreement earlier that will send Rubio to Utah in exchange for Oklahoma City’s 2018 first-round pick.

Rubio is coming off of a year that saw his production go way up after the All-Star break.

This benefits and also hinders both teams in some sense.

The Timberwolves lose Rubio’s passing ability and defensive skills but now have the ability to sign a point guard in free agency that can be more of a scoring threat than Rubio ever was. The biggest name on their list is Kyle Lowry.

The Jazz will now be able to free up a little more money as Rubio will make less than free agent George Hill would have. However, it does raise concern for their ability to keep Gordon Hayward in Utah.
