Ryan Reynolds to cameo as Deadpool in ‘Logan’ – UPDATED
Update: Well according to James Mangold himself and even Ryan Reynolds, this news is not true.

Sadly, not true. Prisoner 24601 is on a solo mission. https://t.co/5czBmMRfY1

According to The Wrap’s very own Umberto Gonzalez, Ryan Reynolds will make a cameo in next years ‘Logan’ starring Hugh Jackman (Wolverine) as Deadpool. Gonzalez notes, “An individual with knowledge of the project tells TheWrap the “Deadpool” scene in “Logan” will most likely become a post-credit scene.”
At this time no one from production or FOX has come out to confirm or deny these reports. This news might have been something the studio wanted to keep a secret until closer to the films release. If the rumors are true then this will not be the first time Reynolds and Jackman have appeared together as Deadpool and Wolverine. Reynolds played Wade Wilson in the X-Men Origins: Wolverine film. Logan will be Jackman’s last performance as Wolverine and this has some speculating the characters fate. Should Wolverine die in the film and the scene with Deadpool is indeed a post credits scene, then we might not actually see the two together. Once this news broke several fans were either excited or hated the idea since the tone of Logan would not fit Deadpool’s personality which is more comedic and sarcastic. Although Jackman did not actually cameo in Deadpool, Reynolds went out of his way to make sure the actors presence was felt.
I myself hate to see Jackman leave the role and I would have liked to see Deadpool and Wolverine get together for one last film. I hope this news is true but should Wolverine die then I fail to see how this cameo is even necessary unless it helps set up Deadpool 2. I do agree with fans who claim this cameo does not fit the tone of the film, which is why a post credit scene makes sense. Either way the film looks to be one of the best in 2017 and should be a fitting exit to the Wolverine character. So how do you feel about this Deadpool/Logan cameo? Are you excited or upset? Logan stars Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart, and Boyd Holbrook – Directed by James Mangold
In 2024, mutant births are severely in decline, and people aren’t sure why. A government-type operation is turning mutant children into killing machines. From this, Logan emerges as a mentor to a mutant girl, who has two claws instead of his three.
