Samoa Joe’s emergence onto RAW & its future
How fantastic is it that the Triple H & Samoa Joe partnership is really coming together? First, let me tell you why it is flowing so beautifully. Triple H has become a force that clearly cannot be touched, a made man if you will. Samoa Joe is a veteran wrestler who has taken on the Michael Corleone persona, a person you know that if you mess with you know you’ve lost and that you are on the side that clearly doesn’t win. This duo has multiple years in the making. Samoa Joe has been a staple in NXT for quite some time now, and has had his moment dominating the brand. The obvious move was to call him up to RAW and make him a stud.
So far so good on WWE’s part, but where do we go with this hitman gimmick? Samoa Joe deserves to be at the top of the brand. The intensity he has brought to RAW thus far has had me and most of the universe asking what is next? So I ask the question. What is next for Samoa Joe? Is it heavyweight championship contention, or is it just a filler until the next superstar comes along? I want to think that WWE has enough respect for Joe and finally grant him with the championship run that he deserves.
As we’ve seen over the past few weeks, Samoa Joe and Kevin Owens have developed a kind of partnership. Triple H brought up Joe to take out Rollins, and was then seen talking to KO privately. Since then, on this past Monday’s RAW, we saw Samoa Joe come out to help Kevin Owens take out Chris Jericho when they began brawling. Are we witnessing the beginning of another version of Evolution? Think about it. Evolution was known as being comprised of the past, the present, and the future. A faction consisting of Triple H, Samoa Joe, and Kevin Owens is perfect. Although you could consider both Joe & KO as the “present”, Triple H is definitely considered the “past” as he is well past his prime.
The triple threat of Triple H, Joe, and KO would run through the RAW roster and wreak havoc throughout the following year after this year’s Wrestlemania. Maybe at Wrestlemania is where they would officially form?? Many superstars would come in their path, and all would fall. Build Joe and KO as an indestructible duo being headed by Triple H. KO wins the US Title from Jericho at Wrestlemania and holds it for months. This would lead to Joe going for and achieving his first Universal Title run. But, of course, all good things do eventually come to an end.
The inevitable break up could happen leading into next year’s Wrestlemania. Joe as the dominant and unbeatable Universal Champion, and KO becoming jealous and wanting to take back the glory. The breakup happens, and a huge storyline begins. Could you imagine the microphone skills and actual promos that would accompany these two heavyweights? When it comes to superstars, let’s face it KO and Samoa Joe could have the same ring to it as Triple H and Mankind, or Stone Cold and The Rock. This could be the next historic storyline in the making!
All we have to do as fans is cross our fingers and hope this can play out over the coming months!
