Seattle to get nhl team
(USA TODAY Sports)

The city of Seattle is finally getting another sports team… just not an NBA one.

The NHL approved an expansion team for the city on Tuesday. The team will begin to play in the 2021-22 season.

They will go through the same expansion process that the Las Vegas Knights went through, except the Knights do not have to put any players into the available player pool.

The team will play their home games in KeyArena. As part of the renovation process, the arena will be known as the Seattle Center Arena.

The name of the team has not yet been decided. The ownership group is not in a hurry as they want everything to fall together perfectly.

A few of the names that have been thrown out are the Seattle Krakens, Seattle Totems, and Seattle Whales.

As more information becomes available, MFST will keep you updated on all of it.
