SNL’s Pete Davidson reveals he has Borderline Personality Disorder
Saturday Night Live’s young star Pete Davidson has revealed that he has been diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder in December of 2016 and that this year has “been a fucking nightmare.” Davidson, who joined the cast of SNL in 2014, says last fall he was having some mental breakdowns and blind rage where he wouldn’t remember anything and thought it was just because he was a pot head. He put himself through rehab and stopped smoking pot but after 3 months he was still feeling the same. Then came the diagnosis from a psychiatrist of BPD. He says he is now on medication and that it “is working, slowly but surely.”
Davidson was noticeably absent for a lot of the last season which left people wondering what was going on. He posted on his Instagram at one time saying, “Just wanted to let you guys know I’m okay. I know I’ve kinda been missing on social media and on the show. I quit drugs and am happy and sober for the first time in 8 years.” He later deleted his account, which he has been known to do for periods of time. He also clarified on a podcast that he should’ve said he was quitting weed because now people think he dies drugs.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Pete during this difficult time and hope he continues to feel better! We can’t wait to see him back on SNL soon.
