Jonathan Allen one of the highest rated defensive ends in the 2017 NFL Draft could see his stock begin to slip after this weekend’s NFL Combine. After talking with a couple of scouts who were at the combine, they were not convinced that Allen passed team’s medical exams, specifically looking at his shoulder which raised some red flags.

According to the scouts I spoke with, they said you could see Allen be drafted outside the Top 10, which is a fall from a guy who wasn’t supposed to make it out of the Top 5.

Doctors discovered Allen has an arthritic left shoulder, and that’s concerned some NFL personnel. Allen himself said it was nothing to worry about now, but “in 15, 20 years down the road it could be an issue.”

That’s not what NFL teams want to hear especially if they are considering investing an early first round draft pick on you.

Allen only performed 21 bench press reps at the combine, good for 35th among defensive lineman.

I did a full scouting report and profile on Jonathan Allen that you can see here. Would you want your team to draft Allen knowing his injury concerns? Let me know in the comments below.
