Spider-Man SPOILER ALERT!!!

Spider-Man

This is one of the most laziest written issues of a comic I’ve read.

We start this issue with Peter Parker meeting Miles and he wants him to stop being Spider-Man. Why you might be asking? Well, Peter was just fine with Miles also being Spider-Man which was shown in a very Ultimate Spider-Man style Segway (which was completely pointless). However Peter came to an earth shattering realization that whatever Miles does as Spider-Man could be blamed on Peter… This was honestly a jerk move by Peter because he found a real childish reason as to why Mile shouldn’t be Spider-Man especially when Miles has literally done nothing wrong. Thankfully when the cops want Miles to surrender because they don’t know who he is, Peter defends him and says he can continue being Spider-Man.

I apologize if I seem like I’m nitpicking, but this is just lazy writing. First Peter with no convincing suddenly decides that Miles can continue to be Spider-Man which makes the whole “you can’t be Spider-Man” thing pointless. Another thing why were the cops so scared of Miles since he defeated a demon that defeated the Avengers and the police literally did nothing to help and suddenly Miles is the bad guy???

Now I shall share some positives about this issue. After word getting out that the new Spider-Man is black, Miles actually gets annoyed because he doesn’t want to be known as “the black Spider-Man” he just wants to be known as Spider-Man. I hope this continues to be explored more because this would be a good chance for Miles to be developed more as a character as it puts him in a real dilemma dealing with identity issues. The art is absolutely fantastic. Sara Pichelli is one of the best artist of the decade and her work really shines on the characters, the designs, the environment, everything is spot on.

I’m looking forward to next issue as Miles deal with evil that we can all relate to… An angry grandparent.
