Stephen Curry’s year just keeps on getting better. This dude is seriously on top of the world right now, as hot as can be, the best player on the best team whose 28-1, averaging 30.8 points, and has seen his jersey sale increase nearly 600% from the year before. Curry has racked up award after award, and now adds another trophy to his name as he has been named the Associated Press Male Athlete of the Year on Saturday. This is following a big win against the Cavs, which was considered by many the “Redemption” game by Cavs fans. In that game, Curry scored 19 points, but took control of the game in the final minutes to solidify the win for the Warriors.

Curry becomes just the fourth basketball player to win the award joining the likes of LeBron James, Michael Jordan and Larry Bird. That’s some good company to be in, as 2 of the 3 are Hall of Famers, and James will be once he decides to hang it up. Curry, is arguably the top player in the world right now, and has already knocked down 134 treys in 29 games. If he continues hitting threes at this rate, he will be on pace to shatter his league record from a year ago when he made 286 threes. Curry has become a dangerous superstar weapon for the Warriors, and is being deservedly recognized for it with the AP Male Athletes of the Year Award. This won’t be the last trophy that Curry will receive as he’s in the running for the MVP award for the second consecutive year, as well as Most Improved Player, and his Warriors’ squad is the top title contender across the league. Congrats on the award Steph, as he deserved it and continues to lead the Warriors night in and night out.
