Super Bowl Picks
The Super Bowl is here and just like we have done for every week of the NFL season, we will be picking the winner of the big game. Orlando Torres won the regular season pick’em title, but he could not replicate his success in the postseason. Dan has locked up the No.1 spot, but that doesn’t mean anything if you can’t pick the final game.
Postseason Pick’em Standings
Dan Schalk: 7-3
Orlando Torres: 5-5
Brandon Reid: 4-6
Philadelphia Eagles vs New England Patriots
Dan Schalk: New England Patriots.
I picked the Pats to win the Super Bowl in August. Why change that pick now? Especially with Nick Foles at QB–yes, he played very well against the Vikings but I can say with confidence–Nick Foles will NEVER win a Super Bowl as the starting quarterback. Maybe one day when be backs up a 52-year-old Tom Brady.
Score prediction: 42-17 Patriots. Boom, that just happened.
Brandon Reid: New England Patriots.
Philly ends up kicking too many FG’s and not getting in the endzone enough but the D plays well. However, in typical New England fashion, Brady gets the ball back, trailing 23-21 with under three minutes to go, and leads a drive that results in a 19-yard FG for the win. Philly gets the ball back but it’s desperation time and New England picks off Nick Foles. Bill Belichick refuses to even hold the Lombardi Trophy and immediately heads to the film room to study tape on his new back up QB he’s going to draft.
Score prediction: 24-23 Patriots. (Listen to the My Fantasy Podcast for the audio pick).
Orlando Torres: New England Patriots.
Tom Brady vs who? Nick Foles, okay that sounds too mean, but for a Super Bowl matchup, no one saw this coming. I actually don’t think this game is going to be close at all, defensively the Eagles should be able to hang with the Pats early on, but offensively Foles can’t keep up with Brady.
Score prediction: 34-17 Patriots.
