Fantasy NFL
(USA TODAY Sports)

With so many superb athletes taking to the field this season, it’s hard to whittle down your choices for the ultimate fantasy NFL team. But don’t worry – that’s where we come in. Today, we’re listing the top five best NFL players for your fantasy team this season, to help those in New Jersey sports betting, to win big.

1 – Patrick Mahomes – Kansas City Chiefs

Not only are the Chiefs firm play-off favourites, but at just 23 years of age, one of their star players, Mahomes looks set to make a big impact this season and beyond. In the 2018 season, the Quarterback became only the second player ever to throw for 50 touchdown passes and 5,000 yards. Additionally, last season he scored 14 passing touchdowns while throwing on the move. This is twice as many as any other player last season. The eyes of football fans everywhere are on this guy…will he live up to the expectations?

2 – Aaron Donald – Los Angeles Rams

When sizing up defensive players for your fantasy team, look no further than Aaron Donald – two-time defending NFL Defensive Player of the Year. In the 2018 season, Donald finished up with 20.5 sacks to his name. This is just two shy of the single-season record. Not only will he be fired up to achieve the hat-trick as Defensive Player of the Year, but he has spent the off-season at his first training camp in three seasons, so he’s coming in extra hot.

3 – DeAndre Hopkins – Houston Texans

Widely considered to be the best wide receiver in the game, DeAndre Hopkins is a great shout for your fantasy NFL team. The 2018 season saw Hopkins account for a league-wide high of 37.7% of the Texans receiving yards. Also, he has clocked up the most receptions (528) of any player. To top it all off, he is on track for a third year being named First Team All-Pro, so you know that he is hungry to continue his winning streak.

4 – Michael Thomas – New Orleans Saints

‘Can’t Guard Mike’ is the highest paid receiver in the business for good reason – Michael Thomas made 33 more catches in his first year than any player in the history of the NFL. Last year, Thomas made 47 receptions, and only came behind Antonio Brown and DeAndre Hopkins in terms of touchdowns. Thomas is an incredibly respected player, with a reputation for treating every practice session as though it’s the biggest game of his life. Now, that’s the kind of player you want on your fantasy team in the 2019 season.

5 – Saquon Barkley – New York Giants

At just 22 years of age, Saquon Barkley is without a doubt one-to-watch. In 2018, he led the NFL in yards from scrimmage with 2,028. This is set to shoot up this season, since his teammate Odell Beckham Jr, made the jump to Cleveland. Also, last year Barkley averaged 5.7 yards per rush – the highest in the NFL. With stats like that, you want this explosive playmaker on your fantasy field.
