‘The Arrangement’ Review
The Arrangement premiered on E! Sunday night starring Josh Henderson and Christine Evangelista as the networks second scripted program. Henderson plays Kyle West, an A-list actor who is at the top of his game and who has it all…almost. His fiancé left him at the alter. Now he is getting ready for his new movie. Evangelista plays Megan, a struggling actress who works as a waitress who just found out her boyfriend has been cheating on her, and gets the chance to audition for Kyle’s new movie and scores an opportunity to read a scene with him. Kyle is smitten with her after she nails the scene and moves everyone in the room, and follows her outside to thank her for making his day and tells her how great she was. He then asks her out to lunch and she agrees, hopping on the back of his motorcycle. He takes her to his favorite taco joint and the two have a nice conversation. Kyle remembers that he has a meeting and asks her if she’d like to come with him. The meeting ends up being in Mexico and he talks her into coming with him. They have a lovely time on the beach and spend a romantic night together.
A few days later we see Megan on set and her agent tells her that she has something to give her. It ends up being a contract from Kyle, who wants her to sign it and become his new girlfriend. The contract also says that if all goes well there will be a proposal, followed by an engagement period, a wedding, and of course children.
Megan is upset because she thought they had something good going on. She and Kyle talk and he explains that his feelings for her are real and all the contract is for is to essentially protect his reputation and brand. Megan goes home and talks it over with one of her friends, but it seems as if she already has her mind made up. At the end we see the two stepping out of a limo and getting ready to walk the red carpet and make their first public appearance together as a couple.
I’m interested to see where this show goes, it had a strong first episode and we still don’t know much about either characters past, like why Kyle’s fiancé left him at the alter. Does he have a dark side that we don’t know about yet? Why would she give up marrying the man so many other women would die to be with? And in the preview for the season it shows Megan’s past may be coming back to haunt her, and whatever it is, Kyle is NOT happy about it. I can’t wait to see what happens next!
The Arrangement airs on E! Sundays 10pm
