The darkside of being a celebrity
Last night I was wondering what my next article would be. Just before bed it came to me when a follower posted pics of a supposedly very naked Orlando Bloom. Sorry if that’s really you Mr.Bloom, but thanks for the inspiration.
I think about 90% of people have at one time in there lives dreamed or thought about what it would be like to be a celebrity. Most of us though don’t think about the price our favorite movie star or actor pays to live out their dreams.
Celebrities most of the time are good at hiding their true feelings. A lot of times if they are sad, or going through something we simply don’t see the pain they are going through for the mask they have to put into place. We forget that when a relationship ends or a loved one dies they have to pretend everything is just fine until they can get behind closed doors.
Or what about the times they miss out on special times with loved ones when they are away filming movies, making albums, and doing tours for us fans and to pay the bills. Many times I’ve read of a celeb still performing despite being sick or in physical pain.
Let’s not forget the lack of privacy. Some celebrities have stories printed up by jealous fans or paparazzi almost on a daily basis about fictitious lovers and sexual escapades that never happen. You know sometimes that girl/guy is really a relative, co-worker, friend or a random fan who just happened to stand just a little too close. So before your heartbreaks remember don’t believe all you read or your eyes think they see.
Almost forgot about the deluge of flashbulbs they receive in their face when god-forbid they need to step out for groceries who would have thought what kind of ice cream they like to eat would’ve made page two headline. Or the 3 am paparazzi dumpster-diving head first into their trash cans to see who’s having sex or the ‘I found a syringe in here’ let’s not put that it’s actually an insulin needle lets put it on the page and say they are doing heroin.
I don’t mean to beat up on the paparazzi. I know they have bills to pay and need food to eat too but really…. In closing if you’re ever lucky enough to meet your favorite celeb please be courteous and remember what they are giving up to entertain us and live out their dreams. I know they aren’t fighting for our freedoms like a soldier would, but still be respectful and remember to treat them the way you would want to be treated if you were the one in their place. Until next time I hope your dreams come true.
