The Flash ‘Abra Kadabra’ Review and Recap
Abra Kadabra might just be one of my favorite villains that has been on The Flash, he was really fun to watch and thus this made this episode a fun one in my opinion. Spoilers for The Flash from this point on.
There is one major thing that I think The Flash is doing all wrong this season and that is Savitar’s identity. We have 5 episodes left and they still haven’t revealed who he is, at this point I feel like whoever they reveal will be a letdown, well except for one person (POSSIBLE SPOILERS future Barry) but I really don’t think they will go down that road. By the end of the episode I was hoping so badly that Kadabra would just tell Team Flash who he was but nope, we definitely better find out next episode though.
So Kadabra is a villain who’s made a lot of noise all over the multiverse but mostly on Earth-19 oh and he’s also from the 64th century so he knows exactly how everything is going to go down and that makes him a possible asset to Barry, so naturally Barry is trying anything he can to get Kadabra to tell him who Savitar is, this is broken up however by the arrival of Gypsy who wants Kadabra because of the crimes he’s committed on her Earth.
After this episode it looks like we’re well and truly on our way to getting a full on Killer Frost on the show. This kind of sucks because I love Caitlin’s character and she’s so nice, it’s hard to see her as a villain and it makes it kind of sad to think that she will become her worst fear, on the other hand it’s a good thing, Killer Frost is a terrifying villain and I wouldn’t really mind her being on the show full time, she might even be the main villain at one point. It was such an emotional moment when it appeared that she died, and at the time I actually thought that maybe they did kill her off.
Abra Kadabra’s powers were pretty interesting, his ability to teleport combined with his future tech made him a very formidable foe for the Scarlet Speedster, the trick he used were he threw a lot of cards at Barry was really crazy and unique and I enjoyed it. Another part of the episode that was fun was the mini team up we got of Flash, Kid Flash, Vibe and Gypsy, I’ve noticed lately that we are getting way more scenes of Cisco dressed up in his Vibe outfit which is nice and seems to be setting him up as a proper prominent hero later on in the series, maybe even by season 4 he could be operating as a hero on his own without Team Flash.
I’m getting really invested in where this season is heading and next episode looks really interesting and it looks like we might get a glimpse of the 2024 crisis. I’m just hoping that they do reveal Savitar’s identity next episode because like I said, it is getting kind of tiresome.
8.6/10 The Flash gave us a fun episode this week with a unique villain that I hope returns soon.
