The Flash: Reasons to be excited for season 3B
The Flash returned last week to kick of the second half of their season with a bang. We have a lot to look forward to for the next 13 episodes and i’m going to go through the five best things that we know are coming.
Spoilers for The Flash follow
At the end of the latest episode of the Flash a mysterious woman came through a breach and seemed to be looking for H.R. This is none other than Gypsy, in the comics she goes by the name Cynthia Reynolds and has been a member of the Justice League and the Birds of Prey, her abilities are being able to go invisible, casting illusions and she has the ability to see events that haven’t happened, just like Vibe. She seems to not have changed much for the show, she is basically going to be the Earth-19 version of Vibe. Gypsy will be played by Jessica Camacho.
It wouldn’t be a season of The Flash without Gorilla Grodd, would it? and thankfully it looks like season 3 will be no different. Episode 13 and 14 of each season have generally been a two-parter, season 1 had the Firestorm two parter and season 2 had the Earth-2 two parter (which were probably my favorite Arrowverse episodes yet), that tradition continues this season as episode 13 and 14 will be a Gorilla Grodd two-parter. in the Grodd episode last season, Barry and team Flash sent Grodd to Gorilla City on Earth-2 and it seems like Barry will be heading back to Gorilla City pretty soon.
THE FLASH/ SUPERGIRL MUSICAL
Episode 17 of The Flash will be a musical crossover with Supergirl, sounds crazy but I can’t wait, it’s going to be incredibly fun. The episode will be titled ‘Duet’, and will also tie into an episode of Supergirl but it hasn’t been confirmed which one it will be. The episode is set to have Music Meister as the villain, who will be played by Darren Criss. Besides including the Supergirl cast, the episode will also include John Barrowman as Malcolm Merlyn and Victor Garber as Martin Stein. ‘Duet’ will air on the 21st of March.
Eddie Thawne was one of my favorite characters on The Flash, he was the definition of likable guy and he was a very distant relative of the Reverse Flash, so there’s that. Eddie shot himself in order to erase Reverse Flash from history and it worked, for a while. Eddie returned during the season 2 episode ‘Flash Back’ where Barry ran back in time to try and learn how to go faster from the evil Wells. Rick Cosnett, who plays Eddie, has posted pictures on his Twitter of the filming of the episode he’s in, but there’s no information yet on what episode he’s returning for or how he’s returning.
Ronnie was the first Firestorm alongside Martin Stein and was killed when he got sucked into the black hole during the first episode of season 2, although that black hole could have just sent him to another Earth in the multiverse. Just like Eddie Thawne, we don’t really have much information on his return yet, we just know that Robbie Amell will be returning to play him. It could be the original Ronnie returning, it could be just a flashback, it could be Deathstorm from Earth-2 or even a Ronnie from another Earth or possibly time travel, the possibilities on his return are pretty endless.
So that’s most of what we know so far about the next episodes of The Flash, but there is sure to be a lot more good stuff coming.
A new episode of The Flash titled ‘Dead or Alive’ will air tonight on the CW.
