The Los Angeles Rams and Kansas City Chiefs did what on MNF?
In Week 11’s MNF showdown between the Los Angels Rams and Kansas City Chiefs, both 9-1 on the season and a potential Super Bowl match up, the Rams and Chiefs did not disappoint in what may have been arguably the best game of the season in the Rams’ 54-51 victory. Not to mention, a Monday night Football record breaking night, as it was the highest scoring matchup on a Monday night battle and the third-highest ever in NFL history.
With the game going back and forth, each offense delivering a scoring punch and the Rams up 30-40 heading into the 4th quarter, fans had to imagine more of the same shall continue in the final 15 minutes of this stellar matchup. And boy, both teams did not disappoint, as both teams scored 35 points in the 4th, as the Chiefs fell just short of their comebacks pursuit after putting up 21 points, compared to the Rams’ 14 to end the game.
As you would imagine, both offenses were on fire throughout the night as both teams combined for 1,001 total yards, 14 total touchdowns (3 by the defense), and each Quarterback going for over 400+ yards each. Rams’ Jared Goff completed 31 of his 49 pass attempts for 413 yards, 5 TDs (1- Rushing TD), 0 INT, but also 2 fumble losses. For the Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes slung the ball 46 times, connecting on 33 of them for 478 yards, 6 TDs, 3 INT, and 2 fumble losses. Although Mahomes struggled to take good care of the ball, the young MVP-Candidate showed some grit in week 11’s matchup and could learn a lot from this close loss to further progress as the season moves on and the playoffs approaching.
