Richard Jefferson was originally going to sign a one-year deal with the Dallas Mavericks but had a change of heart and will sign with the Cleveland Cavaliers. The 35-year-old appeared in 74 games for the Mavs last season, including 18 starts. Jefferson notched averages of 5.8 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 0.8 assists in 16.8 minutes per night. His career numbers through 14 NBA seasons are 13.9 PPG, 4.3 RPG, and 2.2 APG, with a slash line of .465/.380/.771.

He will not provide much more than a veteran presence on the Cavaliers, but hopes to win a championship with LeBron James. For Dallas, I would not sweat Jefferson leaving, and I’m positive Cuban is not as angry as he was when the DeAndre saga unfolded.
