The Showdown: Kentucky vs Indiana Tourney Preview
Kentucky vs Indiana NCAA Tournament Preview Round of 32
This is the reason why we love March Madness. Kentucky vs Indiana is happening. The pair of storied programs may have stopped playing their intense head-to-head rivalry during the regular season, but March Madness would not allow that madness anymore. After their first-round wins on Thursday, the Hoosiers and Wildcats will meet for the first time in four years.

How they got here: Kentucky beat No. 13 Stony Brook 85-57; Indiana beat No. 12 Chattanooga 99-74.
Why Kentucky will win: Talent, quickness, size and depth. That’s what Kentucky brings to the floor, led by sophomore point guard Tyler Ulis, who can break down a defense and quarterback the entire Kentucky offense. Guard Jamal Murray will be a top 10 pick in next year’s NBA Draft and if he can get hot from the floor look out. Indiana has struggled this season on the defensive end, something John Calipari will look to expose. Skal Labissiere has turned a corner after struggling mightily to start the year, and if he is effective on both ends of the floor, Kentucky will be considered a dark-horse for a deep Tournament run.
Why Indiana will win: The Big Ten regular season champs are a monster on the offensive end, ranking second in effective field-goal percentage, sixth in three-point percentage and sixth in two-point percentage. Led by senior point guard Yogi Ferrell, who can drive the lane with ease and step back and knock down the three, makes Indiana difficult to defend. If Thomas Bryant and Max Bielfeldt can control the glass with their strength and size, and the Hoosiers do not have an off-shooting night, we could see Indiana back in the Sweet 16.
Must-watch matchup: Tyler Ulis vs. Yogi Ferrell and John Calipari vs. Tom Crean
