western conference finalsIt’s easy to see why Stephen Curry is the leagues MVP whether you like him or not. After a horrific dive into the stands in the 1st quarter fans in Oracle Arena were able to take a deep breath, and relax as Warriors fans watched their MVP put on yet another spectacular show. You got to love somebody putting their body on the line for their team right off the back.

Curry told reporters “It looks like I have a tennis ball on it”. After hitting his elbow on a metal platform. You couldn’t even tell it was bothering him as Curry finished with 28 points, 9-15, 5-8 from beyond the arc,¬†and added 15 straight points in a span of 82 seconds in the 3rd quarter, which helped his team extend the lead to 20.

Klay Thompson (15 points) and Draymond Green (10 points) both had solid nights, as they got plenty of help from their bench with Ezeli, Iguodala and Speights all scoring in double figures.

OKC just simply didn’t have any counters to stop the beating down the stretch. Kevin Durant was the leading scorer for OKC with 29 points, but only managed to add six of those points in the 2nd half. Russell Westbrook on the other hand poured in 16 points along with 12 assists, but couldn’t get any help else where as no one else from the Thunder managed to score double digits. Steven Adams only chimed in 9 points, but did have 10 rebounds.

After a sloppy Game 2 performance, the series heads to Chesapeake Arena for games 3 and 4 kicking off Sunday at 8:00 ET. After stealing Game 1 OKC should have a bit of an edge, and better game plan, as they head home for the first time in the Western Conference Finals with the series tied 1-1.
