Timberwolves set to unveil new logo
The Minnesota Timberwolves had a rather underwhelming 2016-2017 campaign as their young core has tried to find their identity.
This season marked a move towards playoff potential when they first brought in Coach Tom Thibodeau. Thibodeau was viewed as a fix to the defensive woes that plagued the Timberwolves.
With a new coach in place, the Timberwolves have set out to set a new scene for themselves.
The franchise has been renovating the Target Center throughout the season. They added a new, huge scoreboard that features boards on the inside of it for people sitting in lower seats. They will be renovating the rest of the facility as well and plan to have it completed by the start of next season.
With the building being redone, they also decided to introduce a new logo.
The new logo is being designed by Rodney Richardson. Richardson has also done new logos for the Hornets, Hawks, Pelicans, and Kings.
The logo is set to be unveiled at halftime of tonight’s game against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Each fan in attendance will also receive a commemorative t-shirt to celebrate the event.
In the following weeks after the season, there is also going to be new uniform designs coming out.
