One of NASCAR’s most beloved drivers has made a momentous announcement. After 2016, Tony Stewart has decided he will no longer be a competitor in the sport of racing.

The three-time Sprint Cup Champion plans to retire after just one more season.

The past couple years have been tumultuous for Stewart, and after 582 career Cup starts he’s made a conclusive decision. A storied career will come to a gentle close, as he’s ready to move on to the next chapter of his life.

Tony Stewart will be missed by many, but all wish him the best during the next stage of his career. Tony has 48 career victories, good enough for 13th on the all-time list.
