It’s only a quick two days of Premier League action before heading into the weekend. Let’s go through the top stories of the mid-week.

1. Leicester City beat Spurs 2-1

The top two players of Leicester put on a show for the fans in the first half. Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez put the Foxes up 2-0 at half-time. Harry Kane made things interesting in the 79th minute to give the Spurs a chance to equalize and save a point. Leicester was stout, and came out with a surprising victory against a Spurs team that’s only gained a point in 4 matches. The Spurs drop to 7th, while Leicester rise to 9th.

2. Man United win 4-2 against Watford, set record with points on the road

Ashley Young has faded from United’s elite players category. His efforts off the wing and defense have been great, but his need is diminishing. Jose Mourinho may think differently after Young put on a brace performance in the first half. Later on in the match, Watford made the game 3-2, but winger Jesse Lingard scored two minutes later to end the game. Manchester United are now the all time leader in away points sitting at 900 points total. United and Watford remain in 2nd and 8th in the table respectively.

3. Wayne Rooney hat trick helps Everton to 4-0 victory

In what’s been a very lackluster season for Everton, a victory such as this is a breather for the fan base. Wayne Rooney put on a brilliant performance scoring his third goal from half field, emulating a David Beckham style as the fellow former Manchester United great did. Everton rise to 13th in the table while the defeated West Ham remain in 18th.

4. Arsenal destroy Huddersfield 5-0

Striker Alexandre Lacazette kicked things off early in the 3rd minute, but the Gunners got nothing for the rest of the first half. The second half was a scoring tear accumulating a 4-0 lead in 4 minutes from the 68th to the 72nd minute. Fellow Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud scored a brace in the match. Arsenal remain in 4th while Huddersfield drop to 14th.

5. Mohamed Salah brace caps off 3-0 victory for Liverpool

It was foul loaded game for Liverpool. A total of five yellow cards were distributed to the winning side. Sadio Mane opened things up in the 17th and in a flurry of back to backs, Salah scored twice in a five minute span late in the second half to seal the deal. Liverpool sit 5th in the table while their defeated opponent Stoke City fall to 16th.
