What a great derby weekend! Let’s go over the top stories from this weekend’s Premier League action.

1. West Ham win London Derby against Chelsea

All it took was one goal six minutes in from Marko Arnautovic. West Ham played a great defensive game, hard fouled, card ridden, but successful. Chelsea remain third while West Ham rose to 18th in the table.

2. Manchester City takes Round 1 in the Manchester Derby

It was a frustrating day for United’s Jose Mourinho. A 2-1 loss that was tossed up as poor officiating favoring City. After the match, there was a large altercation between the two clubs in the tunnel separating the home and away dressing room. City are continuing their invincible run, having made a club and Premier League best 46 points so far in the season. City and United remain 1-2 respectively in the table.

3. Wayne Rooney scores first derby goal to save 1-1 draw

In a much-needed draw against Liverpool, Everton’s late penalty from Rooney secured the point. Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp was furious after the match that the penalty was awarded deeming it soft. Liverpool and Everton remain 4th and 10th in the table.

4. Spurs back on winning track with 5-1 win

An own goal from Stoke defender Ryan Shawcross gave the Spurs a 1-0 lead going into the half. The second half was a goal fest.  Harry Kane netted a brace in the competition which was more than enough to help the Spurs to a victory. Spurs remain in 6th while Stoke City drop to 15th.

5. Own goal from Newcastle gives Leicester City 3-2 victory

Newcastle kicked things off in the 4th minute with a goal. Leicester would equalize in the 20th and the teams went into the half tied up at 1-1. Both teams scored later in the second half but an own goal from Newcastle striker Ayoze Perez in the 86th minute gave Leicester a much-needed win. Leicester rise to 8th while Newcastle drop to 16th.
