Premier League

What a weekend from the teams at the bottom! There was a lot of shakeup in the table this weekend, so let’s go through the top stories from the Premier League.

1. Manchester City dominate Spurs 4-1

The Spurs couldn’t manage a goal until the second half stoppage time. Raheem Sterling put the game completely away with a late second half brace in the 80th and 90th minute. Manchester City still remain on top of the table while the Spurs drop to 7th.

2. Liverpool score four on the road against Bournemouth

It was a great performance from all areas of the Liverpool XI. The game was completely put away midway through the second half. The win is also a big milestone as Liverpool have scored more wins on the road by margins of 3 goals or more than any other team. The win puts the Merseyside club in 4th and Bournemouth drop to 16th.

3. Crystal Palace climb out of bottom with 3-0 Leicester City win

Crystal Palace just changed their entire season around in a matter of a weekend. The 3-0 win sets them up to try to secure a better spot to not have to fight relegation as previously expected over the past couple of months. Palace sit 14th while Leicester remain 8th.

4. West Ham shut out Stoke City on the road 3-0

The scoring kicked off in the 19th minute for veteran Mark Noble. The game was put away late in the second half. West Ham are another team that are fighting relegation. The 3-0 win didn’t get them too clear of the zone, but it certainly gave them an advantage over their defeated opponent. West Ham rise to 15th while Stoke drop to 17th.

5. Huddersfield grab big victory on the road against Watford

A 4-1 drubbing from the recently promoted club is a rare sight from them. Huddersfield have been dropping points for weeks. This win helps them right the ship and keep them still in a solid position in the table. Huddersfield sit in 11th while Watford drop just above them in 10th.

Matchweek 19 kicks off this Friday.
