1. The London Derby wins Match of the Week
Chelsea and Arsenal clashed early in the season with a bottle of managers and uncertain futures for both clubs. With both teams in a state of transition this was a chance to see who stands tall in one corner of London. Chelsea gained the victory 3-2, despite Arsenal putting up a good battle. The game began with two goals from Pedro and Alvaro Morata for Chelsea with Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Alex Owobi equalizing the game by halftime for Arsenal. It wasn’t till late in the second half Chelsea scored the winning goal from Marcos Alonso.
2. Brighton upset Man United 3-2
What’s come from this match result are more questions than answers for Man United. The match got out of hand when Brighton went up 2-0. Despite a goal from Romelu Lukaku to put United down 2-1, Pascal Grob for Brighton made the game 3-1 at halftime. Paul Pogba scored in second half stoppage time to make the game 3-2 with no chance for United to come back and tie.
3. Man City put 6 past Huddersfield
Sergio Augero netted a hat trick in the match for game ball, with David Silva and Gabriel Jesus contributing a goal each. Huddersfield had an own goal to total 6 for City.
4. Watford beat Burnley on the road
A 3-1 victory for the road victors show a fighting spirit from Watford. Andre Gray, Troy Deeney, and Will Hughes all contributed a goal only needing three goals in 51 minutes to win the game.
5. Bournemouth beat West Ham on the road
Another team coming into the season with not much expected, the Cherries made a way on the road to a 2-1 victory. Callum Wilson and Lewis Cook scored two second half goals to go ahead in the game after the Marko Arnautovic put the Hammers up 1-0 in the 33rd minute.
