Top 5 Stories from Premier League Matchweek 6
Let’s recap the top storylines from last weekend’s Premier League action.
1. Manchester City destroys Crystal Palace 5-0
Manchester City find themselves still on top the table on goal difference. Crystal Palace have still been unable to register a win this season. While one team is on track for a Premier League title shot, the other is on their way to the Championship.
2. Chelsea pummel Stoke City 4-0
Alvaro Morata scored a hat trick to help Chelsea to a very solid finish. The Blues currently sit third in the table. Stoke City find themselves in 16th after the crushing loss.
3. Philippe Coutinho returns to Liverpool lineup in 3-2 victory over Leicester City
Coutinho put one in the net in the 23rd minute. Under the shadow of a potential Barcelona transfer, Klopp elected to start the Brazilian winger, a sign of faith in the player. Coutinho was subbed off later in the second half for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
4. Spurs outlast West Ham United in 3-2 victory, scuffle in the 90th
Harry Kane netted a brace in the first half with Christian Eriksen giving the third to help Spurs to a win and fourth in the table. In stoppage time, an alteration blew up into a fight in which two players each from both teams were yellow carded. West Ham currently sit in the relegation zone in 18th on goal difference.
5. Lacazette nets a brace to give Arsenal 2-0 victory over West Brom
With a goal in the 20th minute and a penalty in the 67th, Alexandre Lacazette gave Arsenal a needed win to put them in 7th position in the table. West Brom dropped to 12th with the loss.
