Let’s go through the top stories from this weekend’s Premier League action.

1. Manchester City pummel Stoke City 7-2

The Ethiad Stadium was vibrant as ever with a total of 6 players contributing to the big win. Young star Gabriel Jesus had a brace, with goals coming from Raheem Sterling, David Silva, Fernandinho, Leroy Sane, and Bernardo Silva. Kyle Walker was a technical seven contributor but his effort was an own goal to Stoke. The win puts City fully atop the table with 22 points.

2. Crystal Palace pull off stunning upset with 2-1 victory over Chelsea

In what was a better late than never win for Crystal Palace, Chelsea were embarrassed on the road. Cesar Azpilicueta gave an own goal to Palace in the 11th minute. Though midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko equalized in the 18th minute, Wilifred Zaha scored just before halftime to seal the deal with even a whole half to play. Palace remain dead last but Chelsea dropped to 5th.

3. Watford beat Arsenal 2-1 at home

With a Troy Deeney penalty and a stoppage time goal from Tom Cleverley secured a much needed win for Watford to move to 4th in the table. Per Mertesacker gave Arsenal their single goal in the 39th minute, and they currently sit 6th in the table.

4. Liverpool – Manchester United rivalry continues with 0-0 draw

The teams opened up the weekend with a deadlock game. Neither side could move the score due to fantastic goalkeeping. United goalkeeper David De Gea made one of the most memorable saves of the season and his career sticking out a foot to just barely stop and incoming shot. Manchester United sit 2nd while Liverpool are in 8th.

5. Spurs beat AFC Bournemouth 1-0

Through a 47th minute from Christian Eriksen, the Spurs’ victory keeps them 3rd in the table. Bournemouth still remain in the relegation zone.
