Premier League

Let’s go through the top stories from this weekend’s action in the Premier League.

1. Huddersfield Town give Manchester United first PL loss

Despite a goal from United’s Marcus Rashford to begin a rally, two goals from Huddersfield in the first half secured the win. United remain 2nd in the table but are tied with Spurs who are sitting behind on goal difference. Huddersfield move up to 11th.

2. Spurs thrash Liverpool 4-1

Harry Kane put on a brace with Son Hueng-Min and Dele Alli putting in goals of their own to best Liverpool in a record packed Wembley Stadium. Only Mohamed Salah could put a goal in for Liverpool. Liverpool are now in 9th position.

3. Arsenal beat Everton 5-2

Ronald Koeman’s woes in Everton continue. Arsenal scored throughout the second half to put Everton down into the relegation zone on goal difference. They’re tied on eight points with Stoke City in 17th. Arsenal are in 5th with 16 points.

4. Chelsea beat Watford 4-2

A late brace from Michy Batshuayi, with goals from Pedro and Cesar Azpilicueta gave Chelsea a convincing win over a rather interesting Watford squad. Watford’s success this year is surprising as even with the loss they’re in 6th position. Chelsea are in 4th position.

5. Manchester City beat Burnley 3-0

A Sergio Augero penalty made it 1-0 for most of the game. The same margin continued well into the second half until Nicolas Otamendi scored in the 73rd minute. Leroy Sane made it 3-0 just two minutes later. Manchester City now pull fully ahead of the neighbors in Manchester United with 25 points, 1st in the table. Burnley drop to 8th.

Matchweek 10 begins Saturday.
