Toronto Blue Jays the Team to Beat in American League

For most of this season, Kansas City has been the best team in the American League. Jumping to a substantial lead early, the Royals now have a tough battle ahead, if they wish to end the season as the AL’s best team.
Gaining ground steadily since the All-Star break, the Toronto Blue Jays have been absolutely dominant. The mid-seasons trades for David Price and Troy Tulowiztski were exactly what the team needed to spark some post all-star break momentum.

44-19 in the second half, Toronto has been virtually unstoppable. They have MLB’s most dangerous offense and a propensity for the long ball not often seen in the post-steroid era.

Josh Donaldson is the front runner for AL MVP and David Price the favorite for AL Cy Young.

Moreover, the Blue Jays are meshing together at just the right time. Drawing ever closer to post-season ball, Toronto has closed the gap with the Royals in September. With a solid 15-8 record this month, the Blue Jays are going to surpass KC sooner rather than later. They’re now only one-half game back.

In stark contrast to the growing success of Toronto, Kansas City is waning. As the 2015 season continues to mature, the Royals seem to be weakening. The team is 37-30 in the second half, a far cry from the dominant play featured in the beginning of the season. Likewise, the Royals are fading quickly in September. 9-14 isn’t exactly becoming, of a team with World Series aspirations. Look for the Toronto Blue Jays to finish this regular season with the American League’s best record. Toronto should also be considered the odds on favorite to reach the World Series. Sorry Kansas City.
