There are two divisions in the NFL that are very competitive this year. The AFC West and NFC East are locked in a dog fight heading into Week 13. Three teams from each division (Cowboys, Giants, Redskins, Raiders, Chiefs, and Broncos) still have a chance to win the division. Even the worst teams in the division (Eagles and Chargers) can’t be slept on with 5-6 records. Who will come out on top?

NFC East

NFC East vs AFC West

The NFC East is tough, but I think the Cowboys will pull this one out. They’re 10-1 and the team behind them is the Giants at 8-3. Ironically, the Cowboys only loss came to the Giants in Week 1. Much has changed since then  but there is still is a matchup left between these two. Things could get interesting if the Giants sweep the series and they finish with a better record than the Cowboys. They’ll be division champs and could make the Cowboys a Wild Card team. Let’s not forget about that tough Redskins team. They sit at 6-4-1 and could win out to earn a playoff berth. They did defeat the Giants early in the season and could still pull it out as division champs.

My Prediction: Cowboys 13-3, Giants 11-5, Redskins 9-6-1, Eagles 8-8.

AFC West

a

As exciting as the NFC East has been, it’s crazy that this is not even the toughest division. As long as I’ve watch the NFL, I have never seen two competitive divisions like these. The AFC West is my pick for the toughest division. The Raiders sit atop of the division with a 9-2 record. How about Derek Carr and those Raiders? They’re balling out this year with a high-flying offense, but they’re defense could get them in trouble.

Then you have the Kansas City Chiefs behind the Raiders at 8-3. This team has a scary defense, and just recently got Justin Houston back from injury. He is very underrated and let’s not forget he finished with 14 sacks two seasons ago. The offense I think needs to not play so conservative. Alex Smith is a game manager, but I think they should take more shots down the field. They should be getting Jeremy Maclin back soon so that is a good deep target for Smith. I also think they should dial-up more plays for the explosive Tyreek Hill. The Chiefs are dangerous and could easily win this division.

Finally, we can’t forget about the reigning Super Bowl champs either. They’re currently at 7-4 and sit in third place in their division. The defense is playing pretty good led by their leader Von Miller. They’re a tough team, but I don’t see them winning the division. After that tough loss to the Chiefs, they’re last five games are pretty tough. They play the Jaguars, Titans, Patriots, Chiefs, and Raiders. I see them losing three out of those five. They’re 1-3 in their division and have to face Raiders and Chiefs again their last two games. Can 2nd-year quarterback Trevor Siemian lead his team to back-to-back division titles? We shall see as things are getting exciting!

My Prediction: Raiders 12-4, Chiefs 11-5, Broncos 9-7, Chargers 8-8
